Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Lipizzaner region in Western Styria, right on long-distance hiking trails 505 and 502, set amidst the idyllic landscape of the Terenbachalm, the Oskar Schauer Haus/Sattelhaus awaits you – a place of cosiness, tradition and warm hospitality.

As part of the Voitsberg Nature Friends in the Graz tourism region, our hut combines alpine tranquillity with Styrian joie de vivre and invites you to experience unforgettable moments in nature.

We, Martha & René Reischl, have fulfilled a lifelong dream by running this traditional hut. Since 2018, we have been welcoming walkers, long-distance hikers, nature lovers and connoisseurs here at 1,440 metres above sea level.

Whether you’re looking for some refreshment after a long hike, want to spend a few cosy hours in the hut, or simply wish to enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains – our Sattelhaus is the perfect place for it.

Our kitchen will treat you to regional delicacies, homemade specialities and hearty Styrian fare. Vegetarians and vegans are also well catered for here.
We place great emphasis on quality and regional produce to introduce you to the authentic flavours of Western Styria.

It’s not just two-legged guests who are welcome here – your four-legged companions are also welcome to join you at the hut. Our two dogs, Rocki and Bauxi, are always delighted to meet new playmates and add an extra touch of warmth to your stay.

The Sattelhaus is not only a popular destination for walkers, but also a place to enjoy a convivial atmosphere. Here you’ll meet like-minded people, unwind and enjoy the panoramic views of the Styrian mountains.
