Achensee Xtreme

Achensee Xtreme returns for its third edition in 2027. On the weekend of 6 and 7 March, amateur and professional athletes will gather in the Rofan Mountains to compete in three different races – all aiming to take on sporting challenges and claim victory at Lake Achensee.

• Achensee Ski Touring Fun on 6 March: The focus is on enjoying the experience together. Teams of three compete on a short course, but the fastest time does not win. The winning team is the one that comes closest to a secret target time. Creative costumes are welcome at this fun ski touring event.
• Rofan Ascent - Vertical Race on 6 March: The Rofanaufstieg – Vertical Race continues a well-known tradition. The race follows in the footsteps of the former “Rofan Nachtaufstieg”, now with a new race format. The challenging course leads up to the Rofan cable car mountain station and requires a good level of fitness. A sporting challenge for ambitious ski tourers at Lake Achensee.
• Achensee Kids Race on 6 March: A child-friendly course offers the chance to try ski mountaineering and racing for the first time. The focus is on being active, having fun in the snow and enjoying the experience together – without any pressure to be the fastest. Every child receives a medal as a souvenir.
• Achensee Xtreme – Individual Race on 7 March is the most challenging event of the race weekend. The course in the Rofan mountains includes many metres of ascent as well as demanding climbs and descents. This traditional ski mountaineering race is suitable for experienced ski mountaineers and brings ambitious athletes together at Lake Achensee.
