The start of the popular Tauernradweg is located at the foot of Europe’s biggest waterfalls. From there, you will cycle along the pleasant Achenwaldweg, with gentle up- and downhill sections parallel to the Krimmler Ache, as far as Krimml train station. The route continues all the way to Passau, via Mittersill, Zell am See (here, there are two variants to choose from, either along the Salzach or Saalach rivers) to Salzburg, and from there to Passau.

Helmet, drinks bottle, weatherproof clothing
Please only ride these paths if you are wearing a helmet as well as appropriate safety gear.
If you are coming from Tyrol, use the Gerlos Alpenstrasse. Coming from the east, travel in on the B165 via Mittersill.
By train to Krimml station. Reservations are required for bicycles.
A low-cost long-term parking is located in Krimml place.

Before beginning this extended tour, we suggest paying a visit to Krimml Waterfalls, WasserWelten Krimml as well as the Festival Park in town.
A refreshing and invigorating natural Kneipp facility is located right next to the Achenwaldweg.
