The South Harz cross-country ski trail is mainly located at an altitude of 450 to 700 metres and lies between the towns of Bad Lauterberg, Wieda and Bad Sachsa. The trail network has a total length of 47 kilometres and is connected to the Upper Harz trails. Access points to the trail in Bad Lauterberg are located in Dietrichstal and Kirchberg. Parking spaces are also available there. The Bad Lauterberg trails are particularly scenic and are classified as easy to moderately difficult. The trails are groomed according to weather conditions and are signposted in accordance with the guidelines of the German Ski Association.
