In the north of Brandenburg, between Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, lies one of the most beautiful and largest contiguous water sports areas in Germany: the Brandenburg Lake District.
Part of this is the Ruppiner Seenland, which extends across the district of Oberhavel and parts of the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin. With around 2,000 kilometres of interconnected waterways and more than 300 lakes - many of them crystal-clear - it offers holiday guests a variety of holiday fun on, in and around the water. Whether boating or rafting, canoeing, fishing, hiking or cycling - active holidays and relaxation are equally possible here.
With the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park and large parts of the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park and the Barnim Nature Park, the Ruppiner Seenland is also home to three nationally significant protected areas, which are characterised by their dense forests, numerous lakes, moorland and quarry landscapes. Fantastic cycling and hiking trails invite you to switch off and breathe in the forest, and the nearest lake is often not far away for a picnic break. Kyritz-Ruppiner Heide, the second largest heathland area in Germany, is also part of the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park and thus belongs to the Ruppiner Seenland.
