Nouveauté Schmitten - Zell am See

10-person cable car zellamseeXpress and new ski run
As a result of the grand opening of a new 10-person cable car called zellamseeXpress, the Schmitten now gazes – literally – beyond the edge of the horizon. Along the 3,3 km long ski run into the Glemmtal, views await skiers which will make them gasp with delight: the Saalbach grassy mountains and the Steinernes Meer pop into view. With this ultramodern 10-fold cable car along a total length of 2884 meter and altitude difference of 800 meter, you still arrive in less than 10 minutes right back on top of the Salersbachköpfl at 1920 m above sea level. And during the brief trip up, guests enjoy a multimedia sound system in six of the Schmitten Jukeboxx cabins and free WIFI.

Thank you for the music – the Schmitten Jukeboxx cabins
Wider and longer cabins mean more room to spread out, greater comfort during the tranquil (nearly silent) trip uphill, giving visitors the feeling of just floating weightlessly up the mountainside. And not only that, the zellamseeXpress also has still another novelty up its sleeve: six Jukeboxx cabins promise instantaneous relaxation with your own music. The source: a jukebox, just like in the old days where by inserting a coin you could listen to the music your heart was set on. The Schmitten Jukeboxx cabins are similar: guests log in to the free-of-charge WIFI with their smartphone and are automatically connected to the landing website with the prominent Jukeboxx app. As of then, everything is a snap: your favorite kind of music, favorite song, favorite performer, you name it. Just lean back and enjoy.

Station de ski Schmitten - Zell am See

The Schmitten in Zell am See, Austria’s most beautiful panorama mountain, offers – apart from the magnificent 360° Panorama of more than 3,000 meter peaks – a wide ranging program both on and off the ski slopes. As of December 2016, the new 10person cable car zellamseeXpress, together with the brand new 3,3 km long Viehhofen ski descent, enlarge the offerings still further. Families, more than anyone else, feel great on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See. Besides the much-loved Schmidolin’s Dragon Park in our kids area, the KIDS SLOPE with the Glocknerbahn makes skiing especially attractive and varied for the young ones. Pros, on the other hand, practice their abilities on the longest fun slope in the world...or down the Trass, which has a slope gradient of up to 70%, with thrills and goose bumps guaranteed.

The KIDSSLOPE, special children’s zones, skiing fun for the whole family
Inside the Children’s Adventure Zone on a reserved snowy meadow, the Glocknerwiese, the entire skiing offerings ranging from ski lifts to ski runs are perfectly tailored to the needs of families and beginners out on the slopes. The program provides a wide variety of choices for beginners and advanced skiers, accompanying children from their very first attempts out in the snow all the way to safe-and-sound descents down the mountain on skis. They learn a whole lot in ‘Schmidolin’s Dragon Park’ in Kinderland, and soon reach out to the next challenge: the KIDSSLOPE. This fun-filled ski run provides a brand new, totally unique experience of being out in the snow: a combination of obstacles, moguls (waves), tunnel and slalom course, everything ideally attuned to the needs (and cravings) of young skiers. The ski run is sparklingly enhanced by the fascinating story of Schmidolin the dragon and his friends. Skiing here is grand fun in any weather.

Funslope XXL with SpotOn Video Tracker
The longest fun slope in the world ensures the ultimate degree of skiing fun along a length of 1300 meter. Apart from steep curves, moguls, jumps and boxes – and two snails – the route laces straight through the forest (as picturesque as children’s fairy tales) – incomparable! The Sound Speed Booster and the Sound High-Five Hand emit suitable sounds when you ski over them (or clap your hands), making sure that your descent resonates to the skies.
Thanks to SpotOn, the video system for smartphones, you can film yourself while skiing down the fun slope by means of six cameras and GPS tracking...and then watch the video right after your run and distribute it on all your favorite social media. The videos also supply you with exciting additional information, such as maximum speed, average speed and the time of recording.

Black ski run, for the ones who know how
Pros and those who know how, simply adore the Trass ski run, where they can demonstrate their stuff. Black is a color with special significance to winter lovers. It means STEEP – and that is what the Trass ski run No. 14 from the Schmitten summit to the Schmittenhöhebahn valley station is – to the hilt. And long, besides: 4150 meters with an altitude difference of 1000 meters and a slope gradient of up to 70%. The Trass thereby numbers among the longest BLACK ski runs in Salzburger Land.
